Hopefully this doesn't sound like an advertisement, but if you want good service and you're in the greater vancouver area, go to the richmond futureshop location and ask for DISHA. This guy is seriously the best appliance salesperson ever. We have had a hellish move, and this guy has made the process so much easier.
When we first went to the store, he knows his stuff and sold us products which were actually what we wanted, the told us to upgrade to better models when he knew it was a better product and also told us to choose products that were simpler when we just wanted something cheaper. He never once tried to upsell us something we didn't want or pressured us into buying another product. When we asked us about a product, he told us the pros and cons and let us decide. When we asked him or his honest opinion, he gave it to us, and even gave us some food for though on things we didn't even think about before. This guy REALLY knows his stuff and his stock. We were buying 3 sets of appliances and so it was no easy task, and he made it simple. For example, we were looking at a french door fridge, but DISHA told us to wait 3 weeks if we could as futureshop was getting a new model for the same price which was deeper and had more features! WOW. I was impressed.
Now this is where it really gets good, the day we were suppose to get our appliances, the shipping department at futureshop got our address wrong and the appliances got sent to the wrong address. Dealing with all the other personel with the shippers and even other futureshop salespeople got us nowhere so we called DISHA on his personal # (which he gave to us along with his card) and he went to the store right away and got us a delivery date which was better than what other people could offer. Additionally, he then compensated us some money back so we would go out for dinner since we couldn't cook at home for the next couples of days! All without me asking. This guy takes good care of his customers.
Gets better guys, so one of the washers came and after it was installed, had an internal break and dumped water on the floor. We bought an extended warranty so I called up the store and spoke with some lady who basically called us it wasn't their problem and that we have to call the manufactuer. She was basically not helpful at all and never made any effort to correct the situation. So the next day I called DISHA today and he said that as soon as he gets to the store tomorrow, he will have a new one sent to us right away and take the told one back as well as getting a technician to take a look at it to see what went wrong. This guy takes care of his customers even after the sale.
So yea, if you need to get appliances, go to this guy and make your process easy and carefree. The only kinda bad thing is that many people go to this guy so he can be really busy in the store but he remembers you and makes it a priority to let you know he will be with your shortly.
If there are any managers/supervisors reading this, you need to give this man a raise. If DISHA is making the same amount as the other smucks working in your store, then that is a shame. He is the model of what futureshop salepeople should be. If I ever need to buy appliances again, I know who I'll be dealing with every time.

Dude, as a formal employee everything this guy does any decent worker there would do. and the money for dinner is something he should of done without an issue having to occure. For example if you buy a new stove from futureshop, they will give you money for a few days of food questions asked. and with the telling you to wait cause a new model was coming out, was nice, but this is just something to use towards the end. Example: since I got you to save money, maybe you can use this money towards PSP (Product service Plan) which in the long run would save you 100% on repairs.
GL with everything though,
Regards (Former employee)

I would have to go with a similar answer... nothing much out of the ordinary here. Thatès what I do everyday. We employees at Future Shop always follow up after the sales. I would have to agree that it is extraordinary compared to our competitors with whom you end up on the 1800 line for service.

Wow, 'schmucks' is a little strong but I would admit to having the same level of frustrations having gone through what this customer did. Disha and Peggy out in Richmond are both outstanding!! There's also the added pressure of having the corporate office nearby, but the main thing here is the initiative we all place on 'Customers For Life'.
Great job, Disha!!
