hi, my vacuum is making a loud grinding noise whenever i acticate my carpet roller.
i talked to dyson on the phone and they said i can send it into them for a certain cost, i forgot exactly.
but i don't have my box, they want me to send it to germany or something.
can i bring it into you for you to complete the repair?

depending on the model, i have seen this happen on a dyson 2 times. it is the belt that drives the roller bar. if you or someone are comfortable playing with things like this you can take the bottom part of it apart and make sure the belt is in the correct position.
futureshop does not have have a repair place for such things. if you wish to have a repair man look at it, then you should look in your local yellow pages.

that's what i was thinking too.
on the phone with the repair tech, they told me to clean it and take pictures of that part
it didn't help and i have lined up the belt as straight as i could before hand.
must be something inside that's stuck or bent, so i called again and they will actually sent me a box and after that will take 7-10 business days for $140 as i am out of warranty. oh well, i need the roller for my dogs, maybe i should vacuum more often so the dyson does not have to do like 10 full cans on each run ![]()
or get rid of most of my carpets eventually.
