Samsung Refrigerator

I'm really interested in the Samsung refrigerator. The reviews here are great, but I've poked around the net and there seems to be mixed reviews in other places; the item of most concern is that the bad reviews are really bad...as in the unit breaks down altogether & Samsung is impossible to deal with.

I know that there is a service plan offered with FS, but I don't want to purchase a dud to start with and am wondering if anyone has opinions on this refrigerator.

In general Samsung Is a very dependable middle-high end brand, I have seen many hundreds of products with that brand name on them go out of our doors and very little come back within our return policy nor do I get phone calls on problems arrising from them.  I can say that you are right and that the reviews are absolutely great AND absolutely horrible with no middle ground on customers commenting.  this is down to the basic human need to speak out against or for something whereas if we had a really bad experience with something we want others to know and not make the same purchase decision.  On the other end we also do the same when we think the product far exceeds our expectations. this results in not many middle ground prople commenting when they think its ok or works just fine.  In any case if you have a model number for the fridge you like I can do a little investigating into the history and find out if it is the right purchase and not a "dud" as you said.

Furthermore

Further to Gerry's post...Lots of people never comment publicly when they purchase a great product.  My experience is that you hear more squawking when people have a bad experience, as opposed to a good one.

Please investigate Samsung Refrigerator RB193KASB

If you have any information on the model RB193KASB that would be great.  I am buying new appliances and I can't find information on this model.  Is it reliable?  Thanks!

RB193KASB

This particular model is fantasitic.  I know of 4 seperate employees who have purchased this fridge with no problems whatsoever.  This model comes with a great freezer compartment that has 3 closed plastic drawers which will help in keeping your food fresh and save on your energy cost.  In addition it is also counter depth so it wont stick out past your counter too much unlike most fridges nowadays that stick out about 6-8 inches.  It is available in black, white or painted steel ("titanium")I would have to say that it is the largest selling samsung refrigerator we offer, and one of the biggest selling fridges overall.  I am unable to copy links on store computers but if you would like some more information on this model just go to the home page and click on "search by web id" and type in "10070950"  :smileyhappy:

Samsung Refridgerator

I purchased this refrigerator and I love it. It is taller than the most, but it is very spacious and the freezer is the greatest. It has drawers that pull out and the sizes of these drawers are large. You can organize your products and can see through the drawer, at a glance what is where. The top is very well organized for your products with the crisper drawers for your fruits, cold cuts and vegetables keep fresh and crisp. The only complaint I have is there is no egg compartment, but it does come with a seperate little bin that I use.  I looked along time before I decided to make this purchase and I am happy I did.. It keeps your food fresh and is energy efficient.

samsung fridge, range, dishwasher, washer and dryer!

we're moving into a new house soon, and we're shopping around for appliances, i saw some great deals on the flyers this past week with some samsung fridges and i did go in and had a look, it had all the features we were looking for, and the prices with the sales happening now are great... we just have some concerns as this is our first home, and we count on these appliances to stay with us perhaps for the next 10 years... is samsung reliable? or should we look into whirlpool or kitchenaid...

fridge im looking into right now is RF263ABRS, we're not particular about the water/ice system, so we picked this french door model, anyone has this?

stove/range we're looking at is FCQ321HTUX, we're just looking for a simple stove, we're not such great chefs :smileytongue:

dishwasher: DMR57LFS, just to match, we'd probably wash our own dishes...there's only 2 of us...

and the washer and dryer.... just because we found it somewhere on sale... still thinking about this pair... WF218ANS and DV218AEW, these will be in white cuz thats the cheapest :smileyhappy:

any comments welcomed! (preferably asap... we're trying to take advantage of all the christmas sales going around...)

I thought it was a good fridge but after reading reviews about the ice dispencer not working well and other problems I am not so sure this is a very good fridge . I have although read other reviews on other fridges that are bad also . I am really afraid to buy this fridge now. i would like someone to tell me honestly what the quality of the fridge is like and if I can expect to love it or hate it . I want a fridge that just works well with no problems . Thanks I hope to hear from someone soon

Re: Samsung Refrigerator

Ice dispensers are the first thing that you will have problems with wetehr it is a SAMSUNG or not and the manufacturer will only cover it for 90 days since it is considered as an accessory.  The service plan from Future shop will cover that for 5 years.  Also, you will have a bonified waranty for 5 years that will include up to 200$ for the loss of food if a problem occurs.  Samsung have great quality refrigerators at lower prices.  It is equiped with LED lighting that you will not see in other brands at a similar price.

Re: Samsung Refrigerator

[ Edited ]

A few concerns to think about.

Both Future Shop and (competitor) have severely inaccurate capacities listed on their web sites and in their stores for Samsung refrigerators.  Compare your model to the Samsung Web site.  By measurement, the company is accurate.  We are talking several cubic feet of difference here.

Secondly, the warranty is the companies for the first year.  You are at their mercy.  It took three calls to get them started, and not sure how many days it will take to have their service people to show up.  (The stove window just exploded.  Two months old, and it wasn't even on)
