CTV has had a consumer warning on a certain Whirlpool washer in recent days.

If the cause is an electrical switch, then a simple powerbar would be a good prevention device. If the problem is a water valve... perhaps having a plumber install a second shut off valve might be an idea. Personally I have both on my washer.
