Why is Samsung refrigerator RF217ABRS a lot cheaper than the smaller models?

Looking to replace my old fridge. Came across the Samsung RF217ABRS (19.8 cu ft) on sale for $1000, normally for $1049. But the interesting thing is the lower capacity model like RF197ABRS (17.8 cu ft) sells for $1500 and RF195ABRS (17.8 cu ft) for $1300. This does not make sense to me.

Also what is the difference between the two 18 cu ft models? Thanks.

The RF217ABRS is a Future shop Exclusive.  This model is only available in Stainless steel. Exclusive is the main reason that you will see that it has a fantastic price.   The difference between the 195 and the 197 is the bottom freezer door, one is a swing door(195) and the freezer compartment has two drawers and the (197) has a pull out drawer.  Other than that all of these fridges are excellent.  All feature Twin Cooling and movable deli drawer. The door racks are sturdy enough for 3 jugs of milk.  All in all Samsung Fridges are one of my favorites. Good value + excellent product.

Also, the smaller refrigerator is considered a counter depth unit. Usually you pay a little more for the counter depth units. Be it Kitchenaid, LG Electronics, or Samsung, the shallower unit costs a little more. I guess it has to do with supply and demand dictating the price.

However, Cathy is right. A Future Shop exclusive will always have a better price.

I hope this helps.
