Nope. It has its own power supply and is essentially a HTiB (Home Theater in a Box).
Its simplistic design is meant to hook directly up to a tv to give you better sound than what the tv's speakers are capable of. Do not expect surround sound, as true surround sound is only possible when you physically surround yourself with speakers.
The only connections both models have is an analog audio (red/white) and an optical.
