Re: DOES FUTURESHOP HAVE BLUETOOTH WIRELESS SPEAKERS

Bluetooth is not ideal for wireless speakers. Quality is low and bandwidth need's to improve.

But wireless subs and speakers are a key focus for many company's and you will see some cool models come out before Christmas.

Wireless is easier for outside of Canada because our system for sharing the airwaves (2.4/5.8/6.0) is not done well.

And of course futureshop will get it first and you can see it on demo soon!!

Re: BLUETOOTH WIRELESS SPEAKERS

I've been looking at "portable" options to improve my laptop Blu-Ray experience for several months.  I needed something that I could take from room to room at the office, as well as around the house.

There are other wireless solutions out there, but I found many of them played "mono" sound.

Last week, I decided to splurge on the discontinued Sony SRS-BTM30, I got tired of competing with the range hood and running water from the kitchen sink.  Running on AA's makes it easy to carry around.  The main reason I got this speaker for more volume than the built in laptop speakers and it meets this need.

However I also discovered the Bluetooth requires a long laptop reboot to toggle between the built-in speakers and Sony Bluetooth speaker..... a warning I want to share with anyone considering to get Bluetooth speakers to watch for or get a demonstration.  Today I plug an audio cable between my laptop and Bluetooth speaker to avoid the reboot.  Kinda defeats the wireless ability, but at least it's powered by affordable AA Eneloop rechargeables for portability.

Sound quality wise, there's a little too much bass.  But I still use it when I want more volume.

Oh yes, the speaker does work perfectly when I want to play music or videos from my Blackberry.

Looking around the internet, there are other bluetooth speakers by Creative Labs (D100 & D200).... no experience on these products.

Looking forward to the day when portable 5.1 surround is available wirelessly.
