I was wondering which has the better upconverting chip between the two. Also, which is the better buy considering they are the same price(when not on sale). What is the difference between the ABT 1012 and the Faroudja DCDi, Torino upconverting chipset? Just curious to which has the better features along with sound quality. It looks like the HK 2600 is the middle line of that AVR, and the Yamaha is more at the top range of that line of HTR. If you could help me out that would be great. Thanks.

The 6280 is the way to go in my opinion. It's the better upconverting chipset. I bought one on sale a while ago and am very happy with it. It does nto support HDMI passthrough in standbye mode though.

P.S The 6280 was 1499 a while ago, it then went on clearance for 799 and now is no longer on clearance at 999? seems odd! I got mine on clearance so maybe I lucked otu and it was a mistake that they put it on clearance, thought it seemed like a big price drop.
