I think the only speaker set that will integrate with your current Sharp TV remote would be the Sharp soundbar:
It will sound better than your TV's speakers, but do not expect actual surround sound. You can get a real surround package for $600, which is good for a small to mid sized room:

And then you can purchase a Logitech Harmony remote which will control All your hometheater equipment; tv, a/v receiver, satellite or cable box, bluray player etc...

Any kind of speakers that are connected using the RCA audio cables (red and white cable) will connect to the tv and is controlled when you change the volume using the remote, sometimes you just need to change an audio setting on the tv to make sure the audio goes to the external speakers
