I have a 32 inch samsung HDTV, LN32B360C5DXZC. I do not think it has ARC support on it, it only has HDMI 1 and HDMI DVI (2) on it. I have the second one hooked to my playstation 3. I recently bought a Sony 5.1 Home Theatre System (HT 33370) and after scouring all these manuals I have one hell of a big headache. I can't seem to figure out how to hook up my TV to the Theatre system, I even bought a new HDMI cable to hook between my TV to the system. But I cannot get sound on the PS3 or the TV.
Does this TV even have ARC support? I've tried searching but I can't find a answer. Do I need ARC support to play my PS3 with the surrond sound ? If not, how do I get to do that then? I'm so confused I don't even know when to stop asking questions.

By any chance have you tried running an optical cable from your tv to the HTIB? If you're having the problem I think you are an optical cable should solve the issue.

Absolutely it would though I would recommend using HDMI, as this system has three HDMI inputs for various devices. As indicated in the first post, the OP is using a HDMI/DVI cable to connect the PS3 to the TV, which does not carry an audio signal - the OP simply needs to change that out for a proper HDMI cable.
After reading the post again, here is what you should be doing (I have this exact system with a PS3 hooked up):
1. Connect a HDMI cable into HDMI 1 on on your TV and connect that to the HDMI out the receiver.
2. Connect another HDMI cable to your PS3 and the Blu-ray (BD) HDMI input on the receiver
3. Set the receiver to the BD channel
And you should be good to go! It's all I had to do and my system works great ![]()

Hey thanks for the reply,
I have two proper HDMI cables but it appears on my TV I have one HDMI and one HDMI/DVI
so I'm guessing I need a HDMI port?

The only HDMI cable that should be going in your TV is the one from the HDMI OUT port on the receiver.
Does that make sense?

What are you using as your TV tuner source...Bell reciever, cable box...or are you using the tuner of the TV. If you use the TV tuner, you need to run an optical cable direct from the TV to the amp. You may have an RCA (red and white plugs) output or a headphone output that will work as well.
