I just got a sony home theater system and was wondering that if i connect the optical cable from the speaker receiver to the tv will everything play from the home theater speakers. like for example if i connect the optical cable from my tv to the home theater receiver will my ps3 and blu ray player and bell tv sound all come from the home theater and no sound will come from the tv all from the home theater speakers.
The sound should all come from your Sony System if everything is hooked up correctly. Do you have capability to use HDMI from your Blu Ray to your system, and from your system to the TV ? As HDMI cables can transport both audio and video from the single cable.
