Hi Folks,
I'm wondering which speaker would be best. Klipsch or Polk Audio.
Also, as sound quality, is the fromt floor speaker really worth the price and investment?
Regards

Thanks for the question.
I will apologize for my lack of supporting information. I have the Klipsch RF62, with the RPW-10 subwoofer, the RC-10 center channel, and the RS42 rear speakers. This set is powered by the Pioneer VSX-9120TXH receiver. And I couldn't be happier. I personally have never had a set of Polk speakers, so I cannot attest to their quality.
The Klipsch have a very distinctive sound from their horn design, which some like and some do not. It's a matter of personal preference. Another thing I love about my Klipsch is how efficient they are, they do not require much power (although the receiver has plenty) to produce great sounds.
At this point I would recommend heading to the nearest store and have a listen to both speakers, and see which one sounds best to you. That's the toughest thing about speakers, what sounds good to me may not sound good to you
As for the price of these and if they are worth it. In my opinion yes, with no questions asked. I enjoy moderately loud music, high quality sound from my DVD's etc, as well as clean sound while watching TV, so it's a no-brainer to be able to buy the best I can afford. And as you said, it is an investment. With proper care these speakers should last a lifetime, and I bought them with that in mind. They may be something that could be handed down through the family. ![]()
I hope that helps you out some. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I am sure the Home Audio Experts can add a bit more info to my reply that may help.

I have Polk Audio speakers paired with a Velodyne sub and it sounds great!

I also like and use Polk Audio speakers and you can get some excellent sales on their front tower speakers throughout the year. These sale prices make your purchase that much more cost effective. I feel its worth getting the front floorstanding right and left speakers with the matching center for the best sound and they can last a lifetime. But the SALE is always the key for best products at the best price. Wait for the sale....as its worth it. Polk also has great deals on Bookshelf speakers that can be used as surrounds. Put the savings into a quality Sub and you will end up with a better system. Your Receiver should be of equal or better quality to bring out the best sound.

When testing both side by side I found quite a variance in sound. This is entirely a preferance. The Klipsch have horned tweeters and can really make a lot of noise. They give off a very bright sound that some of the customers I have dealt with have found them too much for there liking. Polk Audio has less flair but they are still very clean sounding speakers.
A lot of customers I have dealt with have opted to compare the specs of the two but you can only go to a certain extent to the point where you actually need to make your purchase based on hearing them. Frequency response, wattage, crossover points, so on and so forth, all of that should be kept in mind but ultimately your decision should be based on what sounds good to you.
Trust your ears, they won't lie.
