I have tried both and I found the House of Marley cans had a more natural sound in the high end and tighter bass. The Beats sounded artificially bloated in the low end and you can't defeat the noise reduction which will always sacrifice fidelity.
However you can get the AKG 271 MKII headphones for less than either of these and they provide better noise isolation than the Marleys without using noise reduction. I paid $150 for mine but they're around 125 right now on (competitor) in the US. I also tried Sennheiser HD555's and they were very nice.
I like close backed circumaural cans. The Marleys are supraural so they don't seal off outside noise as well as the AKG's I've mentioned do. Personally I found the fidelity of the Sennheisers and AKG's to be better than the Marleys. The Beats are last on the list and I'd only choose them over the most poorly performing headphones like Bose.
