I use Firefox too, and I'm a little surpised these message boards don't support a Javascript WYSIWYG version as the IE version does. There are tons of open source textbox WYSIWYG editor suites that work just as well (if not better) in Firefox and offer even more functionality if desired than the IE versions of these boards. At least they're cross compatible.

Yup.
It doesn't affect me as I know the code, but I'd imagine they're making things harder for ~20% of the people that use these forums.

I've edited the instructions to better explain how to post an image using firefox.

And as for the WYSIWIG for firefox, I'm going to look into this and see if it's something that we can do...

Thanks for bringing it up!

Cheers,

Most of the vBulletin and phpBB modifications allow for WYSIWYG text editors - perhaps try looking into what codes they're using?
I'm not sure if it would be something that lithium would have to implement at a higher level, though.

thanks for calling this out Cam - it turned out to be a really simple fix and firefox users now have access to a WYSIWIG editor.

If you prefer to use HTML, then you can click the "Edit as HTML" link at the bottom right of the message box.

Thanks!

Any chance on including a preference so we always get the "Edit as HTML" as default?

I managed to do this. Under "My Profile" choose the Preferences tab. Scroll down and you'll see a checkbox labeled "Use WYSIWYG Message Editor". Uncheck this and you shall return to a world of tasty HTML.
