Which is why Laura can't see them while she's at work. HR departments usually have imageshack locked hard.

Well I haven't had one for a while here, but I've never run across a blocking of imageshack?

More Photos!!

I picked up a 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 lens earlier this week - with Macro! Here are some of the shots from my photowalk today at lunch. All of these were shot with the Sony Alpha 350K.

I call this one "Allergy Season"

Mundy Park

[ Edited ]
Photowalk last night in Mundy Park. As usual, these were shot with my Sony Alpha 350k with a variety of Sony, Minolta and Sigma lenses.

As a kid I used to always try to take shots like this without any of the know-how to make it work. This is the first one with my Sony Alpha 350k and I'm very happy with it.

Just a standard UV filter from Hoya. There's a touch of post processing on some of them through Apple's Aperture - I usually tweak the saturation to get what I want out of the image. The most heavily processed image is the woodpecker - I had to chase that little bugger down through the forest (quietly) and the area that he stopped in had some bizarre lighting conditions. I tried to meter it correctly but in the end it was a bit washed out for my tastes.

I shoot everything RAW+JPEG (I should probably just shoot RAW, all said and done :smileyhappy: ) and import it into Aperture. The lift/stamp options for creating uniform adjustments on similar shots has saved me hours of work - it's a very cool feature.

As with all of the images I've posted here, you can click through to my flickr account and download larger versions. If you're on flickr feel free to ad me as a contact.

Graham, I must add, very impressive.  These are the sorts of pictures that make me wish I was no longer a student and could actually afford to go out and spend a couple thousand on an SLR and associated lenses!  One more year (I hope)!

Thanks Krypto, I enjoyed shooting them :smileyhappy: Having the right gear does help a bit.

That said, I was talking to a friend the other day and he made a very good point: even with thousands of dollars in gear, if the creative spark isn't there the pictures won't be what you want them to be. You captured something very cool with your point and shoot - and I think others would agree with me that you (and everyone else who has posted in this thread so far) have a drive to make photographs that you find interesting and visually appealing. That's more important than even the most expensive L-glass, in my opinion.

Aaaaand now I sound like a sunday afternoon special. But you get the point :smileyhappy:
