It was actualy about 15 degrees that day, we were out in an 18 foot boat about 100 feet off the icebergs. Polarizing filter really helped that day as the sun was washing out all the blues. You just don't realize how big these things are until you get close to one and you can see the reflection of the sun bouncing of the 8/9th of the iceberg that is under the water. Most of these things get "grounded" in the bays and coves around Newfoundland.
This is another shot to try and give a perspective against the land.
p.s. as of last week, we had approx. 900 of these floating in the waters around the northern and northeastern coasts of the Island.
