Re: canonrebel T3

If the lens does not say IS. Then no. Canon makes both IS and non IS versions.

To clarify.... is this the ad you are referring to?

OK.... I think I see what you're looking at..... I think it is a typo.  Need someone from Future Shop to verify it.

Re: canonrebel T3 => First DSLR lens

You mentioned this is your first DSLR......

I strongly recommend visiting the store and try out the 18-55mm...  I know many who have tried the 18-55mm and hated it because the zoom range was too limited.  Also when your subject is more than 6 feet from you, you find yourself needing a 55-200mm.  But now you are stuck with carrying two lenses and risk getting dust in the camera.

Personally, I recommend getting an 18-200mm as your starter lens.  The added zoom range is more practical for a beginner.  As you get more advancd, get a 50mm to minimize distortion and maximize light.  If not, consider f/2.8 lenses.

Future Shop does not sell camera bodies for entry cameras.  So you might need to visit a proper camera store.

Finally, I like Nikon.
