Right now its $79.99 any idea if futureshop will offer it at a lower price through one of their flyer deals soon??? Would love to get it but too pricey right now

At the retail level I wouldn't bet on it, considered that it is a new phone and one of the most sought-after phones on the market currently (other than iPhone ).  Even Telus Teamstore is one of stock on the Desire at this time.

Perhaps in a few weeks or months but it is currently a very hot phone right now, especially for Telus. One thing you might consider to be a good deal though is the phone's lack of need for a data plan.

I just bought my Desire and got it unlocked.   However I have not used the phone yet.

The Desire actually does require a data plan to get it for the cost of $79.99.  All smartphones, expecially Android phones require data to get promotional pricing.

To the original poster,  this phone is on SALE this week only for $49.99 on a 3 year Voice and Data plan!

At the time of posting, the Desire did not require a smartphone data plan.  That's true for some phones today too, both the LG Shine Plus and the LG Optimus One smartphones require no data plan, only a voice plan.
