Weather Eye

Storm version was just released a few weeks ago. Web site was not clear regarding Storm compatibility. I did email them and was told "not compatible". It works great.

Double Twist

Mac version of Double Twist that allows to transfer Itune Music Library to Storm was just updated. I use this on my Mac, Windows version is due to release next week per Double Twist team. Have itunes on both Windows and OS X.

It's does need some work and easy to use. Once the Storm is plugged via USB, Double Twist recognizes it and then just drag and drop.

I did transfer some Music and playback on the Storm is not bad at all, impressive.

OS Version 122 is GOLDEN

Got and email notification from BlackBerry that an update is out. Downloaded and installed both Desktop and Device software. Device version seems to be 122 and it is significantly better, snappier and with three keyboard options. So far so great!

OS 122

I checked Telus site and no new OS updates listed still .76.

I presume then that Bell is your service provider as rumours were  out that Bell would update.

Bell Storm customer's have indeed received this update....

Bell Storm customer's have indeed received this update.  At this point its a web upgrade, meaning it's done via the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and you can't simply download the entire package.

I also spoke with a Telus rep and he stated two things for us Telus people (take what you like from it - I do actually trust what he stated as it's completely reasonable and rational).

  1. Telus and Bell often share the same network so they usually have similar OS upgrades, although there can sometimes be minor adjustments.
  2. He had not yet received any notification of a OS update for Telus Storms and stated that they typically receive updates one week in advance of a release.

Suggests we're at least a week away from an official upgrade, likely longer.  He also had no information about the OS version that Telus will be sending out, so it could be .122 or it could be something entirely different, but based on point 1, there is a reasonable expectation it may be .122.  If it is .122, I'd say expect it soon, if they go with something else, it'll be a little while longer yet.

Just thought I'd bring this up.  For those Telus customers watching this thread, if you choose to attempt to install the Bell version, while it will work with your phone, it will still be considered unofficial until Telus releases it themselves.  This means that if you have any technical problems you need to go to Telus for, you'll still want to downgrade to .76 until that upgrade comes through.  Also note that there is no download version available at this point in time (just other things that people have posted).
