I believe I have the PEP or some other extended warranty for my blackberry. I remember there was a deductible of something like 250$ on it was either damage that is not usual wear and tear, or theft. I am not certain which one. Could you please comment on that?

I got this warranty as well. At first I thought it was a great deal and encouraged my friends and family to get it too. I myself have only returned it once to get a new phone. ( I have an iphone 3GS)
However, a lot of people I know, like my sister, have had problems returning their phones because of - a lack of a better word- **Bleep** employees. Her iphone kept randomly shutting off on her, so she assumed it was a software problem and restored it to factory settings through itunes. It still didn't fix it. So when she went to return it the guy told her "this is clearly a software problem. We can't replace it, we dont replace for software problems. Go restore to factory settings through itunes. She said she did and it didnt fix it, thus it was clearly a hardware issue. He said 'hardware issues arent covered' you probably dropped it and damaged it. Its your fault. (which is horrible to assume...especially since her phone had no obvious damage). She got really **bleep** off and went to another futureshop location and they exchanged it for her easy without a problem.
So my point being? Its a good warranty as long as you dont get an**Bleep** rep. That store my sister went to usually has employees who are like that for some reason (we decided not to shop there after a while). But my problem now is this:
I got my iphone from there and I got the warranty from the manager. When I got it she said that she had the warranty on her blackbery and the best part of it is that if a new blackberry comes out and hers dies, she will get the new blackberry and not the older one. This made me really happy and pushed me to get the warranty, because I'm the kind of person who is always getting 'the latest' stuff, and I wouldnt have gotten a 3 year warranty if this wasn't offered to me. But now that the new iphone is coming out this summer, I looked over the warranty and it doesnt say specifically that this is the case, even though she told me it is.
Is it?
I'm worried that they will tell me that I can't have the newer phone!! Especially since the employees at this particular branch aren't the nicest people. ![]()

As great as it sounds, this really isn't. I was sucked into buying the warranty and have just ended up with NOTHING. I am soooooooooooooooooooooo unimpressed with Future Shop and it's crap service, especially after charging an arm and a leg for this promised great warranty.
You guys sell it as if "any problems, just come on in and we'll give you a new one" but what it this "7 step plan" that has to be gone through before I get even an ANSWER as to whether my phone is "really" not working or just "ok, and can still run" and you will give me my old one back.
I was in there at 8pm yesterday, told that checking my phone would take til 9pm, so I sat and waited. At 9pm I was told it was going to take til 10pm. At 10pm I was told it was going to take til 11pm but "we have to close the store now and can't have you here but I promise to finish this before I go! Call me in the morning, even BEFORE our store opens, to find out what happened with it!" Fine, I bought all this BS and when I called this morning, I was not only trying ALL different departments just to get SOMEONE to answer the phone, after having chosen to speak to an operator about THREE Times, I was then put on hold for about 2 times each time a new person coming on, asking me the same thing, me having to give the same response. I was then told a manager would call me back in 5 minutes. I waited 20 minutes and had to call back myself before I could get a call back.
In the end, manager was trying to set all these things up in my phone that had disappeared (eg: language inputs). When I asked for "Chinese" language input, manager actually told me THIS DOESN'T EXIST ON THIS PHONE (Blackberry 9700). Well, I know it does because when I first got the phone, I had it on the phone!!!!!!!!!! How do you not know your product and just say something like that? He had to put me on hold to go on the internet to find out if I was right or not. **bleep**. and then tells me all these things are still loading and my phone isn't done yet, althought YESTERDAY NIGHT I was told everything would be finished and I just could call in today to see if I would be getting a new phone or not. Also, after only THREE MONTHS of use, the keys are completely chipped I can't even see what alphabet I am typing on because the paint is all gone!!!!!!!

Future shop is a joke. I was with customer service for over an hour trying to find the extended warranty to get my phone fixed. There was no record of it ever being purchased, along with 3 other things (camera, xbox and ipod) that were purchased along with it on the same day just before Christmas of last year. This doesnt make any sense because I am still making payments for these 4 items to futureshop but they have no record of them? What am I paying for? It boggles my mind.

What if my blackberry 9700 white is no longer in stock and I purchased the 2year warranty plan? Do I get an updated version of the new blackberry?
