My daughter has a Blackberry 8330 and is interested in buying a "Charging Pod" but the only one you have listed online is for the 8900. The in-store rep says it is compatible, is this correct. I have found a separate 8300 series model elsewhere

The 8900 series will NOT work for your daughter's phone, you will need to purchase the 8300 series as you suggested.

There are 3 8300 "Curve" series phones, the 8330 is what you have ....so it is most likely with Telus or Bell (CDMA network) and it adds video as a feature over the other models in this line.. the 8320 and 8310 are GSM network phones, the 8320 does not include a GPS feature that the others have.

The 8900 series uses the newer USB standard connection MICRO USB, whereas the 8300 series uses the mini-usb style..

So, although we don't have the sync pod for the blackberry 8300 - we DO have a cool new product called the POWERMAT, which can charge her blackberry, her ipod or mp3 player and maybe even more devices that can grow with her and her upcoming future electronic purchases...

This is something worth checking out.. will post link to URL in next post

Thanks for your assistance Craig; unfortunately the Powermat option you are describing is about $140 + tax, as opposed to $15-$20 option I was looking at in the Charging Pod. The 8300 Series Charging Pod does exist, Future Shop just doesn't carry it, so in this case I will simply be shopping elsewhere.

Additionally, the reason she is looking for this is because the phone will not charge properly using the standard interface. Although unlikely it is possible that there is something wrong in the phone that may preclude it from recharging period and I don't know that dropping $140 (where it is returnable or not) on a 3rd party product is the best to test that.
