Screen protector installation

Hey everyone!  I've got a question for the Future Shop employees out there :smileyhappy:

Let me preface this by saying that I am HORRIBLE at installing screen protectors, but I'm really awesome at setting up my own phone.  On the website, under the Smartphone Services heading, one can get "Setup with Protection" where techs show you how to use your phone and then install an invisible shield over your phone.  Pretty good deal if you have no idea how to use your phone.

Now my question is, if I already know how to use the phone and don't need to be given a 30 minute tutorial, is it possible for me to buy a screen protector and have the cell phone techs install it for me?

Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Screen protector installation

The key question is experience.... some installers do a better job than others.

Another option I discovered is mall kiosks.  Often their sales includes installation... they gets lots of experience.  Some will keep walking by the kiosks for someone to install and go back to watch if they do a good job.  Ask for the "no bubbles" guarantee.  If bubbles are found, you might get a discount.

Re: Screen protector installation

It's a tricky process.  Personally I find Zagg difficult because it's a wet process; you'll to squeegee out the water to get it looks "smooth".  After using both Zagg and another brand that does not use water, I prefer the latter.

The trick is make sure the area and the phone screen is clean.  I use a foaming spray plus a microfiber cloth to prep it before application.  I have used many products before, and the foaming spray is absolutely the best I've seen; unfortunately not too many places sell that product.

Then there are the tablets... with the larger area it's defintely more challenging to apply.  I did it to my HP Touchpad and there was one speck of dust bubble in the middle of the screen.  I would like to fix that, but I left it as I might end up with an even bigger mess.

Re: Screen protector installation

Thanks guys. I went to Future Shop and they installed one for me for $5 plus the cost of the protector. They did a really good job and it's guaranteed for two weeks from them, plus a lifetime guarantee from Zagg.

Re: Screen protector installation

Your best bet would be to call the Future Shop store that you would be taking it to. I actually don't know the answer to that question.

Use the store locator found below:

Merry Christmas!
