Hmm, Viigo installed on my phone no problem on the first shot, so did Google Maps and everything else I've tried downloading (assuming it works on the Storm). And I've been able to access the site (as you listed it), but the Storm is not yet listed there (its the support centre for all their phones, you just click on your model to access the page, although, again, the Storm isn't there just yet). You're not located in Vancouver by chance, are you? (I think I remember seeing something stating you were in Edmonton). From the problems you're listing, I'm starting to wonder if your phone isn't having a software issue. Any chance you can get access to a dealer who can contact Blackberry for you? If they have a Blackberry tech that can look at it, they might be able to reinstall the OS and get it working for you. Or if they do release the new OS soon, upgrading should take care of things for you.
If you want to PM me your settings, I'll compare them to what I've got on my phone. ![]()

That is indeed Java (Java Micro Edition, more specifically). I wish there was a way for me to connect using the USB cable to my computer to check if you can just uninstall and reinstall Java (in case that's the problem), but until I get a replacement cable...
I'm assuming you've already checked to see that Java is enabled, correct? You can also check permissions, but...

Check inside the browser, click on Menu > Options > Browser Configuration. Ensure Browser states Internet Browser and Support JavaScript is enabled. I've got Allow JavaScript popups disabled.
Let me know if that helps!

Did re-boot, no luck for either viigo or Google maps too. Same error. I will see a Telus Dealer hopefully tomorrow and see what they have to say. I bet they will ask to cal 611 for help. I have emailed them and hopefully if they call me back.
thanks for the assistance, will be post if Telus offers any assistance or the dealer for that matter. Not sure my next step after though.

I'm sure they'll figure things out. It'll probably involve a OS reinstall like I said before, but that should take care of it. Just make sure to backup your data first, just in case! And yeah, keep us posted...
Good luck.

Kinda figured that some settings were not correct. Midday I stopped by at Dealer (purchased from) showed them the error, the young lady called Telus right-away as she did mention that she had error similar to mine from another customer. 20 minutes had my phone back. The Browser settings by default were set to Telus WAP. My Motorolla V710 was too so I didn't think to much of it. Both settings were supposed to be "Internet" Browser Config and that solved the problem. PHEW. I did log-on to viigo and Google maps Blackberry browser comes and images are fine as if on a PC. I should have no problem downloading anymore. I sent an email to Telus, remember these settings were set by whoever by default so I am not the only one.
Krypto, you plan to have several sd cards, i suppose you were going to swap? What's the maximum it can handle, is it 16gb?? I was planning on 16gb, have several folders music, application, games etc (not to use on-board memory). I know I can create folders if I plug the sd card in a PC but not sure if I can create folders or select once the card is plugged in to storm?? When I chose to create folders in the storm it creates by default on the desktop no choices to create on sd card. You know where I going with this? This way I don't have to swap any cards??
Your thoughts on this. Seen several other brands of sd cards class 3 or 6? I have 6 regular sd cards at home (2&4 gb) for my SLR camera none I can recall have specific class but several are high speed. Several people at the Crackberry forums are reporting slower speeds with class 6 so am not sure whats the class all about. Your thoughts on this.
I could download applications such as viigo or google maps to the sd card or does it by default go to download folder?
Appreciate your thoughts on these sd cards how best to maximize memory, class type accepted on the storm and creating folders on the sd card while plugged in bberry. Hey, how about downloading or transfering via PC a H264/MP4 movies right on the card??

First thing, I'm glad they sorted it out! From what you had sent me, that's what I had thought happened, but maybe they had to access the settings differently than how I was thinking. Nice to have a properly function phone, eh?? ![]()
Secondly, regarding the cards, I think it's more about the card manufacturer than the class. Usually class 6 cards are supposed to be the fastest, but there's a difference between class 6 from Sandisk and class 6 from a low end card manufacturer. In my opinion, Sandisk is the way to go. I think the limit right now is 8GB (I haven't seen 16GB around anywhere yet), but 16GB would certainly be nice so that you don't have to swap cards.
As to programs and folders, when we loaded the movies onto the original card, we just loaded them into the Videos folder by sticking the microSD card into an adapter and popping that onto the PC and that was it. I think we can pretty much just create our own folders as desired with no problem on the computer, and then just stick the card in the phone. I've also started to figure out that you can actually choose where some things (e.g. email attachments) are downloaded to, but things like programs are downloaded and installed directly into the phone's memory (it has it's own system memory that's dedicated for programs that's apparently seperate from the 1GB internal memory). I don't think we can change that, or at least not yet (maybe after future system updates??).
Final comment, when I do finally load up my new microSD cards, I actually plan on just taping them to the inside of the battery cover. Apparently this is what the Blackberry guys have been doing.
Like that, no worries about losing them!
