Future Shop is on Twitter!

Although bgrier referenced that Future Shop was on Twitter in one of his ever-insightful blog posts, I never formally made the announcement here.  So, here it is:

"Twitter?" you ask.  Yes, Twitter.  They call it "micro-blogging".  You have 140 characters to share a message, be it a random thought, a link to a cool website, interesting article, or hilarious pictures.  We've created 3 accounts that we'll be using to tweet about different a few different things - read on below.

The first is @FS_Deals - this one is pretty straightforward, follow it and you'll get updates on the hottest deals.  There is even a Twitter exclusives program - meaning some sales will only be advertised on Twitter, we'll tweet a coupon code and a link to whatever product it is that's on sale and you get the deal.  Cool right?

The second account is @FS_GetItFirst - interested in learning when new products will be launched?  When we get stock in on those hard to track down items?  What the new releases are for this week?  Follow FS_GetItFirst and you'll know.  When we find out that a new MacBook is launching, we'll be tweeting it before we even get it on the site!

And last, but certainly not least, @FS_Connect.  This account is about all things community.  I tweet out interesting blog posts, hot & relevant discussions and general community news.  It's an easy way to see what's hot at the moment in the community, and who knows, maybe one of the discussions you started will be featured!

So do you tweet?  Follow us!  Want to learn more about Twitter?  Read bgrier's blog!

I'm still refusing to join the Twitter culture!

But here's the good news, even if you don't have Twitter and are like me and don't want to sign up for Twitter, you can still get all the info by signing up using RSS feeds.  I'll be throwing the Twitter feeds onto my BlackBerry using Viigo's RSS feeds and even though I'm not on Twitter, I can still keep in touch with all the great deals!

There are also several other great RSS tools - even Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, and Google lets you follow your RSS feeds, so for those of you who don't want to use Twitter, there are still alternatives for staying in touch on all of this!

JOIN US!!!!  lol.

Thanks for the tip Krypto - since pretty much all news is broken on twitter now, being able to follow what's going on in this space is important even if you don't have an account.

Yeah, I'd missed a lot of good deals by not checking things out.  Alas, I guess it just kept my wallet a little happier!  :smileyhappy:

I am too verbose fro Twitter. Not that I have that much to say. I just like to say a lot of it. The character limit seems too arbitrarily limited for me.
