2009 is looking like it will be another great year in our Community with new features, cool events and plenty of technology discussion to be had. To kick things off, I'd like to direct your attention to a new capability in the Community - photo upload! It's been a long time coming, and I'm happy to let you all know that you'll now be able to upload images from your desktop directly to the Community.
Secondly, very soon there will be a pretty major change to the landing page. It's been redesigned to better display our content and give a better overview of what we have available. We had some great time with the old landing page, but we thought that we could better take advantage of this space and share even more information.
With the launch of the new landing page, we'll also be doing away with the side bar navigation system. This list was growing too fast and getting too long. The easiest way to navigate will be to click on "Future Shop" in the breadcrumb at the top of the page to take you to the See all boards view.
And finally, in case you haven't already seen it, I'm pleased to announce the launch of a new program - The Community Forum Shout Out Awards! This will be an annual awards program that recognizes some of the best contributors and contributions over the past year. The 2009 Awards will encompass all of the fun times we had in 2008 - and everyone who posted in 2008 (Future Shop associates included) are eligible. Check out the new board - I'll be posting a thread for each of the 7 categories where you can start making nominations on Friday, January 16 at 12pm EST.
