I was wondering if my graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 4550 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E Video Card) will run a new game coming out called "APB". I'd like if it ran smoothly because I preordered it without even thinking about if my computer will run it. On their website, it says that the minimum graphics card you should have is a Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX (or equivalent). I think mine is better than that, but I don't want to just have to play on the minimum requirements. Their recommended graphics card to play on is an ATI x1300+ Video card.
Here are my system specs:
2GB RAM
2.0GHZ Dual Core Processor
32bit Operating System
Vista
Service Pack 2
ATI Radeon HD 4550 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E Video Card
If someone could please respond letting me know whether my specs will be good enough to run this game smoothly, and if it's leaning more towards the minimum requirements, or the recommended. I appreciate anyone's help.
Thanks.

Your system meets the requirements, but the processor and RAM both are at the minimum. Your graphics card actually probably is the best part compared to their specs, which is common for MMOs. You might benefit from getting another GB or 2 of RAM, but it shouldn't be needed. Also, since it's entirely online with alot of players at the same time, your likely to run into lag issues with your internet speed long before your computer's speed causes a problem.
In short, you could use a small boost to be sure you run the game as smooth as possible, but I don't think it will be needed.

Okay, so in conclusion my specs should be good enough to run the game smoothly? When I used to play World of Warcraft recently my computer ran it pretty well, on customized average graphics settings. If you do suggest me getting more RAM, what is the best brand and most reliable, I can probably get 2 GB more. Also, is it easy to install yourself? I don't want to have to bring my tower in.

Well, APB does have higher requirements than WoW, so it might need to be put at lower settings than you had for WoW. For RAM, the brands that Futureshop carries are pretty similar in quality and reliability. Kingston is a bigger name with a much longer track record than the others, though. To install it, there is a short video with tips here. You can always bring it in to the store if you change your mind.

Okay thanks Robert, I'll probably go and grab a 2GB RAM, it looks pretty easy to install and if it makes my computer run faster overall, then it's a good buy.
