Is this analog (VHS, 8mm, Hi8) or Digital (MiniDV, Digital 8)?
Digital works best with Firewire. Analog needs with RCA connectors. Analog is a little tricky as older computers may not be able to bandwidth.
There's a product called Dazzle, but I don't see it on the Future Shop website anymore..... I think this product would meet your needs, but I have no experience on this product..... Personally I went with Matrox video capture products when I had an older computer to ensure there were no dropped frames....
Future Shop carries Pinnacle products, and when I look at Pinnacles website, I see a product called "MovieBox". I don't have experience with this product either. I recommend doing some research here.
