i need more ports for my home network, my rogers modem/routr has 4 but i need at least 10.

In addition to daisy chaining your routers and switches, have you considered going wireless? If you go wireless, you can have over 250 simultaneous connections!

Thanks for your quick reply. I do use wireless for ipod and cellphone but prefer to use wired for gaming. I know nothing about networking so I need very basic help.

Can I do the following?

rogers modem/router  ---> 16 port router ---> computers

If multiple computers access internet at the same time would this setup slow download speeds.

XL is correct. If your Rogers modem is also functioning as a router (which it should, since it has four ports built into it) you'll need a switch to provide additional ports. The switches XL linked are top of the line business equipment, but less expensive home equipment should be plenty fast for online gaming.
