"Wifi" mainly describes wireless local area networking (WLAN) products that allow establishing network connections wirelessly. It's mainly a marketing term, as only products that meet Wi-Fi Alliance's standards may use the term "wifi".
(Note: strictly speaking, "wifi" itself has nothing to do with the Internet per se; you can have a wireless network connection that connects only to an internal private network.)
