Ok so story is alway's had a pc and video gamea ie(xbox,ps3) this is my first laptop. So I have always had my pc and game connected with router and ethernet cables. Last year sometime my roomate bought a toshiba laptop(also from future shop) so went out and bout a d-link dir 655 wireless router. We got his lappy running off the dlink and it works fine. I have never been able to get any of my game systems to work wirelessly.
I know my password and I have tried reseting my modem/router countless amounts of time. I have also searched manny forums including this one thing is not sure what im looking for.
I can get it so i can see the dlink connection on my computer and it says it has excellent strength but i have limited access.
My Laptop is a HP intel G62
Router: D-link dir 655
internet provider: rogers.
Im not to sure what else info is needed. Any help Greatly appreciated. sorry if spelling isn't flawless
Merry Christmas

i suspect it could be a security or authentication issue. Properly reset your router to it's default settings. See the manufacture to do this or usually it's using a pin to press the tiny reset button on the back. Verify that all your previous settings are wiped including the router password. Now with your game console select the quick connect with no security options. We want to connect with no security or authentication of any kind.
If you connect successfully, then you can add back your previous router settings step by step, testing for a wireless connection after each step.

Ok I guess that is the next step in trying to solve the problem. The only fear I had doing this is. What if I then can't get the laptop that is already connected wirelessly connected.
I will let yoou know how it goes. I wont be able to reset it until later on in the week. Busy with family, im sure everyone knows how that goes.
