The loud noise is from your fan spinning up. This is normal for when your laptop starts up but if it stays on when your computer has not been started for a while then that could be an issue. The fan spinning fast at startup is usually from the computer making sure that it works before it boots because if the fan doesn't work when you are using it this could literally melt you components. If your computer is off more than 20 mins and you just booted, the fan should not be noisy for more than 2 minutes after you see your desktop, this is from your ram and proccesor working hard and producing heat on startup. This is also normal when you are watching a video, editing photos, streaming video and other high-quality tasks. If it continues to do this, and you are still under warrenty with FS, bring it in and they can have a look, (sometimes can be costly) but if you are comfterble taking your computer apart, look at the transfer feeder that takes the heat from the proccesor to the fan (usually gold platted brass) and check for dust in the fan out put.
Thanks and the best to ya,
Stephen Richardson

Many computers will run their cooling fans at full speed during the initial phase after it's turned on, and then they'll slow down once your system is loaded. If it sounds like there's something wrong with the fans then I suggest calling Sony for support or taking it to one of their repair centers. If it sounds like a fan that's just working really hard, that's rather common.
