Upgrading a processor can be a very tricky task, although it may appear simple.
Knowledge is your best weapon, do your research, know the motherboard specs, know what processor it can handle etc.
If you provide more info regarding your system specs, I would be happen to provide more detailed information.

i agree research is your best bet, make sure to know what your current motherboard supports as well make sure to always apply thermal paste unless the cpu comes with a heatsink with thermal paste already applied.
