Hi this is my first post on these forums.
During Future Shop's last New Year's or Boxing Day sale, I bought an LG Flatron W2353V 23" LCD display. I have an Xbox 360 plugged into the HDMI and a computer in the DVI. It worked perfectly until a few days ago when the touch-buttons on the front panel stopped responding.
After the power is cycled (unplugged and plugged back in), the buttons will work for a few seconds, maybe a minute. The power button will turn the device on but not back off. The LEDs on the panel light up when I touch any button but the buttons themselves do nothing.
The device will also remain in whatever 'state' it was in when the panel froze. When, for example, the Xbox is turned off, the monitor normally senses the HDMI signal is dead and enters a "power saving mode" in which the screen itself is off and the power button slowly flashes. Instead, it just stays on. When it is on, I've also noticed that the picture is too white but I can't attempt to fix the contrast because the buttons do not respond.
I've searched this forum for similar problems but only found a few old complaints that don't fit this exact description or model number. Does anyone have a similar experience or ideas? It's greatly appreciated.

I use the same monitor and use it for the same purpose, but haven't experienced those issues. How long have you had the monitor?
However, I might be able to help with your brightness issue, if it's the same issue I had. Is your picture too white, or too bright? Mine was too bright, but I noticed when I changed my display reference level to "Expanded" on my 360, it brought the brightness down to a nice level.

Thanks JB.
I've had it since the Boxing Day sale so that's about ten weeks. The image is too white, not too bright and it only started doing that when this problem showed up. I'll play with the settings on the xbox to see if that helps at all.
I believe it's under warranty from LG so I guess that's where I'll turn next. Thanks for the input.
