I didn't enf up making it to Future Shop today but now I see there is a Intel one on sale for $700. So Which is better

cookieface: I took a look at this one earlier and had a really hard time figuring out which one to suggest.  If I had the choice, I'd pick the Intel processor over the AMD processor any day, but the DV5 series laptop has a much better graphics option.  Basically, I'd bring it to this... if you care about the graphics, go for the DV5 laptop, if you aren't really doing any gaming, etc. go for the G50 series laptop (Intel processor).  That's my suggestion!
