2003 audi a4 1.8t

i have a 2003 audi a4 1.8t with a stock head unit. i'd like to be able to connect my ipod or other mp3 players  to the head unit so I can play it through the car stereo. i will stay away from fm transmitters because i've tried that method and it's no good. i'm looking to install an aux input to the car. about how much money and time for the install am i looking at? thank you

I'd look into a PAC audio ipod adapter for you factory head unit (their website is US prices so canadian price will be more.)

it's model number is :iPAC-OEM (you may need a specific harness for it) will charge and play the ipod or iphone!!!

you can check out more PAC solutions here for your car ->  PAC Audio

All Future Shop stores will be able to order them.

or a solution that all future shops can do and install almost same day -> AUX input $99 (installed) + 2x antenna adapters $34approx.  (only  plays ipod won't charge).

Re: 2003 audi a4 1.8t

sorry but i need to ask you something. are there local distributors of these ipod adapters? i mean the product itself is that not costly but shipping just ruins everything! so i was wondering if anybody here knows of any car audio places that will carry those ipod adapters brands like pac blitzsafe etc. i'd like to install myself if i could find it thanks !

Re: 2003 audi a4 1.8t

hey ShwaCarInstall

i dropped by a futureshop on the weekend and i asked the install guy, he said with taxes and everything i'm looking at $150 something for the install. now before i decide to go and do that how is the quality on that thing? i used to have a blitzsafe ipod adapter (charges) that doesn't really matter i care about quality. the sound quality of that ipod adapter was absolutely amazing i basically got the same sound quality as the source. what about the option you mentioned to me? the aux in with the 2 antenna adapters? how is the sound quality on that?

Re: 2003 audi a4 1.8t

It will depend on you radio. If you can get a perfect FM radio station - the AUX in adapter will sound like that.

So if your radio sucks then it will suck. But if it's great then the sound will be great.

I've done them in newer BMW's and found the sound to be amazing.

But hands down the digital interfaces from PAC will tend to sound better and give you more options and control (although way more expensive)

i ended up ordering the blitzsafe ipod adapter for my car connected to the cd changer port in the back. final price is $100 with shipping so this is cheaper and better quality i believe
