Car Starter/Alarm Combo Installation

I received a car starter/alarm combo unit for Christmas, and I would like to know how much it would cost to get it installed. I have an automatic transmission Sunfire, with keyless entry and the trunk pop. I also own a bypass module which is needed for the installation. On the keys, I would like to have it open the trunk, lock and unlock my car (and when it does, I want the horn to sound to confirm the locking). How much would this set me back?

Re: Car Starter/Alarm Combo Installation

Basic alarm starter install     $150.00

Bypass module install           $60.00

keyless, trunk, horn honk      $99.99 *

materials fee                          $4.99

+ taxes

*(3 features can be done in a special package called "bronze pkg") - saves you $19.99 over the original price

I have an issue with people charging extra for the "convenience features". If I have the keyless entry and trunk popper working on my factory keys, and I get the install done, the installer cannot disable those features on my old keys and make me pay to get them back. I will need to discuss this with my installer. I am fairly positive there is a consumer law protecting consumers against that sort of thing.

None of the factory Keyless entry or convienience features are ever disabled on your factory remote. These are able to be transfered over to the remote start for Convienience if you wish, just so you don't have to carry your stock(factory remote) everthing on one remote makes it simpler for the customer, but as I said your factory keyless entry remote is still fully functioning.

I didn't know that. Thanks for clearing that up. I appreciate it.

Re: Car Starter/Alarm Combo Installation

but it's good to note that some factory keyless entry systems do not work when the car is actually running.

So before you get an aftermarket system installed. It's best to start the car with the key and see if your's indeed still works.

If it does it will work with the remote starter, if it doesn't it won't
