Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't need to "reprogram" it every winter, but in some cases the unit can accidentally be set into valet mode which will disable it. This is something you can do yourself; there's usually no need to bring the car in, unless there's another underlying issue.

my car is an 2008 acura tl type s...i recently had some body work done on my car due to some idiot whose car hit my car...literally his car hit mine..he didnt put his car in gear or pull the e-brake!
anyways...
the auto collision place says they didnt disconnect anything, but my automatic starter isnt working....i thought it was the battery in the remote, changed battery.. nothing. I called the place that installed it they said it may b in valet mode. they cant get me in for a couple weeks.
We would need to know what type of remote starter it is.
Do you have power door locks? Were they hooked up during the installation? Meaning were you able to control the door locks from your remote starter remote; and more importantly, can you still control them from your remote starter remote?
