In short, yes, it can be done. However, I usually recommend purchasing a new unit because the cost difference is negligible (keep in mind you will pay an hourly rate to remove the old one), and you get a brand new system, usually with better features and new warranty. In either case you will likely need to purchase a new bypass module for the Altima, especially if it's a push-button start. Your best bet is to stop by your local Future Shop and have them quote both scenarios to you so you can decide which way you want to go. Hope this helps!
