VCX:
Small tip: If you want quick turnaround time for repairs next time buy a laptop from either HPs or Dells Business line. I believe they have 48 Hour turnaround time. However the machine is more expensive as you pay for that privilege.

I have an HP HDX 16 that i bought in May of 2009. I purchased the 3 year PSP on it. I had to go into futureshop this morning after my AC adapter started beeping and wouldn't charge the notebook. They ended up replacing the adapter with one they had in the back but when i asked for documentation they told me that if i wanted documentation that i would need to come back in a few weeks. I found that a little strange but anyway... What i was wondering is, because its a power adapter is that covered under the No Lemon Policy? From what I know from working at (competitor)/Futureshop they consider both Major and Minor repairs to count towards the No Lemon Policy. Anyway, hope that i can get this cleared up.

Hi Jawdog,
Recently the terminology was shifted and the term ‘minor repair’ was phased out.
To answer the question with regard specifically to your situation; anything which sits outside of the “case” is an accessory and does not count towards the no lemon repair policy. These parts are still covered under the term of a product service plan but are considered accessory replacements not repairs. This results in some key differences between laptops and desktops worth noting when discussing the no lemony policy.
In the case of a desktop where a power supply is an internal component part replacement would be considered a repair for the purpose of the no lemon policy. In a laptop the ac cord is external to the computer and thus it is considered an accessory replacement. Take a keyboard and / or mouse failre and the reverse holds true, these parts are considered accessory to a desktop but internal components to a laptop.
Hope that helps
