Okay, my computer crashed, figured that it was the hard drive (old computer). Any ideas on the best way to retrieve documents and pictures from it?

Thanks for posting you question.
Accessing your files really depends upon 'how' the computer has crashed. Specifically what's happening with the computer? If it's just windows that has crashed or corrupted than most likely your files are easily retrievable by connecting the hdd to another computer and accessing the files that way.
Let us know what's happening and we'll see what we can do to get you all fixed up ![]()
