Hi! I bought Lumix DMC-TS3 from Future Shop, however the HD video format is not readable by Mac. I would like to know, if there is a solution that not includes buying a video converter?

Hi there,

The digital camera is using AVCHD as the HD video format, which is supported by iMovie08 or later for any intel based Macs. As long as you have updated your iMovie and your Mac is intel based, you should be able to decode it no problem.

On the other hand, if you have previous mac , ie PowerPC , or your intel Mac just won't decode at all. You can definately use the following media players:

VLC player

Not a very fancy software but it will suffice on decoding the HD movie.

Hope that helps,

Hi!

Thanks for you quick response!

It worked!

I am with Mac 10.4, however I have never considered importing a video file with iMovie.

From my canon camera I was downloading videos directly with CameraWindow.

Now, for the HD I will go with iMovie.

Thanks again!

Have a nice day!
