I just bought the monitor yesterday.. but as soon as i use it, it is making both hissing and buzzing sound. (not at the same time). also, when monitor blinks as if it is changing its resolution but nothing changed.. i did not have any problem before with my old monitor. when i researched, the hissing sound is mainly due to the old capacitor going bananas... but i just bought it yesterday

If that incident continues after a couple of hours of usuage, you might have picked up a defective unit. In that case, just bring it back to your local FS with your receipt and exchange for another unit. 

I had the same situation with one of my LCD monitors before, but that sound seems to settle after a few hours of usuage and I never heard of it ever again. However, if you are uncomfortable with your current unit, doing an exchange would be your best option.
