I have a HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop and would like to connect a Samsung T240 monitor to have dual monitors. The laptop only has VGA female and the monitor has DVI male out. How would I make this possible?

Hi there,
According to Samsung's website,T240 does have a VGA input onboard.
With that you would only need a VGA cable to connect from your laptop to the monitor to achieve dual monitor.
Hope that helps

Really? When I look here, this is what it says the monitor has:

Brightness: 300 cd/m²
Contrast Ratio: DC 20,000:1 (1000:1) (typ.)
Response time: 5 ms
Viewing Angle(Horizontal/Vertical): 160º / 160º (CR>10)
Viewing Angle(Horizontal/Vertical): 16.7M
Video Signal: Analog RGB, DVI, HDMI
Sync. Signal: Separate H/V, Composite, SOG
Connector: 15pin D-SUB, DVI-D, HDMI

Thanks Micky! Appreciate the help. I'll pick up a VGA cable asap (male on both ends it looks like). Again...thank you.

Are looking at adding just one monitor? Would you like to add two monitors? What about three monitors?
Google for Matrox's DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go. These products allow you really multitask, game immersion, or lots of workspace for video editing.
