My first recommendation is to try a few freeware programs you can download online, such as Spybot and Malwarebytes. Though these programs don't do much to stop something from getting onto your system, they're great for getting rid of stuff that's already on there.

The second step would be to try some retail antivirus programs, such as Norton Antivirus or Kaspersky Antivirus. These programs are also good at removing infections found on your computer, and they're also good at stopping viruses before they have a chance to infect anything.

Due to the nature of viruses, though, there's no perfect 100% virus removal program out there. The only way you can absolutely guarantee a cleaned, virus-free system is to erase everything on the system and reload Windows from your computer's recovery disks or recovery partition. Be sure to have kept a back-up of all your important personal data before attempting this, though!

Of course, you also have the option of bringing your computer in to Future Shop, where the ConnectPro Computer Technicians can attempt to clean out all your viruses or restore your system for you, for a fee.

Hope that helps!

Another really good online antivirus scanner is the BitDefender online scanner.  This is one of the best ones out there.  You can find it by doing a Google search for BitDefender Online Scanner.

You can try Avast.  Avast has a pre-boot scanning feature -  it performs a virus scan of the hard drive before the operating system boots up.  That way it has a better chance to get rid of the virus.

Re: hi, my computer is infected with trojans,. what should i do?

save yourself some time as it will almost always come down to this (specially if you have things on your computer that you don't want to take a chance with such as banking information....).. Back up your information to an external hard drive (files not programs).. attach it to a clean computer and scan for viruses to make sure nothing harmful made it on there (don't worry too much about infecting the clean computer. Only very advanced, and very few pieces of mallicious software are programmed to jump across drives).. once that checks out wipe the infected computer and install windows again... feel free to waste your time scanning/removing/re-scanning/re-removing... but i guarantee this is the best and fastest solution and THE only sure way to get rid of all the bad stuff

I have to admit, this would be my method for doing this! :smileyhappy:

Re: hi, my computer is infected with trojans,. what should i do?

Another option would be to bring your computer to the local Computer Technician. I assume that since your posting on this forum with a virus removal question you are not a technician. If you want to save yourself the hassle find a certified technician who will either remove the viruses or backup/reload your machine and do it right.

Guys this option should always be one that is offered for these types of problems. Most people don't want to mess around with their computers as much as we geeks love to. :smileywink:
