Leaking, not so much. Gasses escaping, however, is a different story. This should only happen if you are laying your tv flat down which I'm sure the PE who sold you the tv told you never to do!

Absolutely Ridiculous!
a) Gases will NOT leak out of a plasma unless you physically smash the panel. (Nor will liquids leak out of an LCD.) These are sealed units. Even then, there is no where near enough gas to cause anyone any harm or explode or any other silly scenario. There are more gases in the surrounding atmosphere that you breathe in a daily basis.
b) It is recommended that plasma's be transported upright and not laid down due to the fact that the glass panel can flex and break, especially on the larger sets. If that should occur, you will be buying a new TV, as the cost of a replacement panel actually exceeds the cost of the entire set.
Physical damage or neglect are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty or FutureShop's Service Plan.
