My TV Can Not Display Picture in Full .

My D6500 Samsung LED TV can't display pictures in full screen when connected to Rogers HD Digital cable box, the top and bottom screen 're always missing about 2.5", but when i connected the TV directly to the cable on the wall without the HD Digital cable box , the TV will display in full .

Can somebody explane this to me ?

Thanks alot .

Re: My TV Can Not Display Picture in Full .

When your TV (which is an awesome TV by the way...I have one) is connected to your cable it goes into widescreen. You should be able to set the display how you want it either by making an adjustment to your TV or the cable boxes' output. Have you noticed a difference in quality between the two pictures?

The TV can display in full screen if i adjust picture size to Zoom 1 , but the picture is not as good as when

the picture size is 16:9 . The picture  is much clearer with HD digital cable box .

Your new cable box is not configured properly to match your TV.

Go into your cable box output settings and make sure that it is set to output to a 16:9 TV.

I can't set my cable box to 16:9, there are 3 functions : Normal, Strech, and Zoom . I think i need to upgrade my 4 year old cable box with a new one . My current box is EXPLORER 3250 HD .

Call your cable provider to help you with your cable box settings, or upgrade your rental box if necessary.  It sounds like the settings on your cable box are not matched to your set.
