I need to record and then be able to download sound files I can burn onto CDs. What do you suggest

I need a little more detail.

-Are you just mixing? If so what program are you using?

-Are you going to be recording vocals, instruments, etc?

-If so what program are you using and do you have a sound card capable of doing this?
