The Official "Show Us Your Gear" Thread

[ Edited ]

Cheers All!

Now that we have a musical instrument forum, it's time to launch the official "Show Us You Gear" thread.

We want to see the instruments and equipment you play and use to let the inspiration flow!!

It would also be great if you could post pictures of you using your gear. Videos of you jamming alone or with your band would be awesome!

Here are the rules:

1)No

1) Please don't post pictures of you Guitar Hero or Rock Band instruments. This thread is for musical instruments

2)It's your Gear.  The pictures that you choose have to be the real deal. No pictures of in-store stuff or off-the-web rips.

3) Guidelines Apply. Remember that the guidelines still apply to this idea. Thus, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, violent, racist, abusive, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Please also refrain from posting any content intended to exploit, solicit, or harm minors. Violation of this will result in removal of the picture in question, and if it gets out of hand, we'll be forced to end the project itself, so KEEP IT CLEAN!

4) Size. Try to keep it in the range of around 1024px width and 768px height. This is not a set in stone rule, and Moderators will judge if corrections need to be made to the size (we'll handle it).

5) Number of Pictures and videos. You can put a unlimited amount of pictures and videos but please keep in mind we don’t want to spam the forum. Don’t post every single angle of your setup. You can post a General picture of the setup and then individual pics of your setup. As for videos, I'll be posting more info tomorrow.

6) Comments. This is a project to bring a positive vibe to the board. So feel free to comment on the pictures, but please keep any negative comments to yourselves.

You can host your pictures on sites like flickr, photobucket, facebook, etc. Some of these sites will give you the URL to copy/paste into a message and you don't have to do anything else.

To post an image:

You can also check the Community Information Center for a tutorial on how to post pictures on these forums

Here's a picture of  me playing my heavily modified  Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass

I'll be posting more pictures of my gear and instrument in the next few days

There's three of my guitars... a heavily modified no-name HSS style guitar, a yamaha acoustic, my Ibanez AF95 hollowbody

My Epiphone Valve Junior on top of my old Peavey Windsor Combo, on top of my homemade 2x12 cabinet loaded with celestion v30s. my homemade rack sits on top (currently pretty empty.. a BBE Sonic Maximizer and Behringer Virtualizer Pro DSP2024)

This is my Peavey VTM (Hot Rodded Marshall JCM800 clone, except runs on 6L6) on top of the 2x12.

This WAS my pedal board, there's been a few changes. The Hot British and Equalizer are gone, the TS7 has been modded to 808 specs, and the signal path has been changed.

Edirol PC-50 MIDI keyboard. Not shown: my face with the other end of the keyboard jammed against my chin. Ouch. With it, I can make epic rock tunes like this one! Go me.

It's not a Rock Band mic. Really! Even the filename itself says so. Ignore the little 'Rock Band' scrawl along the top, above the thing that, uhh, looks strangely like an XBox Guide button. But it isn't. Really.

I should probably get a 'real' mic eventually so I can really sing it and upload my glorious voice to YouTube for all to hear and say, 'Who the heck is this guy? He sounds horrible!' but for now, my dreams all rest in this nifty piece of equipment that means I don't have to fiddle with a controller all the time.

Indeed!  Tanarus, you rock! :smileytongue: This totally reminds me of a song that you'd expect in a older Nintendo game (I'm thinking one of the ghost levels of Super Mario World).  Fun stuff!

Aww, you guys're too nice.

Made that years and years ago, for a videogame we were programming in high-school. Been meaning to get back at it and see what I can bang out now.

But, please don't let me hijack the thread. XD Let's see more setups!
