I purchased a Nordic 2way remote starter in March of 2008. This summer they replaced the brains (factory recall), however because I had left the remote portion at home, they could not link the remote to the starter/brains when the brains were replaced. Because we've had a really nice summer and I haven't thought about the remorte start until now, I havn't tried to link the remorte and the starter/brains. Reading the manual, it tells me to flash the hood pin, then how to link the units together. My issue is with flashing the hood pin. When I attempt this, nothing happens. I can't get the lights to flash, or the sensor on the window to light up... idea's?
It says to flash the hood pin:
Press and hold the hood pin for 4 seconds
Release the hood pin (the parking lights will turn ON)
While the parking lights are on, press the hood pin once more and release immediately.
You now have 20 seconds to select one of the sum-menus.
Transmitter Programming Options
Flash the hood pin.
Before the lights go out, turn the ignition key to the ignition on (run) position and immediately to the off position.
Press and hold the lock button and keep it down until the siren or horn chirps twice and the parking lights flash 5 times quickly.
The transmitter has been stored in memory.
Idea's? I'm in northern Canada, and it's starting to get cold up here (frost every morning, and there's still snow left from the weekend), and the nearest futurshop (where I bought it) is 1800 kms away (1200 miles).

Ensure the antenna is actually plugged in, and also that the wire connecting to the hoodpin is still attached. Also check that the hoodpin is secure and has no rust or corrosion where it is mounted or it may not be getting a good ground signal. You can try to wiggle it around a little bit while pressing it down as well. Were your parking lights originally hooked up to the remote starter so that they flash? If not then the will not illuminate when trying to flash the hoodpin. You are doing the correct procedure to flash the hoodpin, make sure you hold it down for at least 4 seconds initially, I usually hold for about 8, release for about a second, then a quick press and release to enter programming mode. Keep an eye on the LED in the antenna as it mimics the parking lights if they are not hooked up.
When you cycle the key, make sure you turn it fully to the ON position, almost cranking the car, and then right back off. Pull the key out slightly to ensure its off, and then press and hold the lock button on the remote. Being inside the car it can be difficult to see any light flashing if the transmitter does program, so just listen for the brain to click on and off 5 times, it sometimes makes that easier then watching for lights.
Hope that helps, let us know if it doesnt.
