hello.

I am installing a new stereo head unit into my car.  My car has a factory installed JBL amplifier in the trunk, and I have no info on it at all, other than the Ford part#.  How can I find out how powerful it is?  Can I take it to my local Future Shop store and have it tested?

Info on factory equipment (or aftermarket-factory "premium" systems, for that matter) is difficult to find. It may be listed in the vehicle manual, but not likely. Dealers may have the info in their service manuals, so you could try giving them and call and see if a tech will look up the info for you. Other than that, there's really no way to test the output, or at least no practical way to do it.

what year and model is the ford? sometimes you can find old vehicle advertising pamphets on google where they boast their 8 speaker system with 120watts!!!!
